My most sincere condolences to the Preston children and their families and also to Dorothy's brothers and sisters. I am also a double cousin to Dorothy.
Dorothy was 11 years older than me, and my memory of
her is of a debonair woman who was out in the world
enjoying all that life had to offer. In later years, I had occasion
to see her again when she came back to Ontario for
family events.
Dorothy will always be with you, you will see her in the faces of her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
May God Bless you all.

My mom was a wonderful lady and a friend who I could always count on. I will always remember her telling me a couple weeks ago, "You can't be sad about it, you have to have humor and be happy" when she was in the nursing home, not doing well and making the nurse tech smile & laugh.
I'll never forget that.

To Dorothy's children: I would like to extend my sincerest sympathy. Dorothy and I go back to our very early days when her family lived next door to us in Barry's Bay, Ontario and when our family moved to Northern Ontario Dorothy's family was already there and our families remained very close. Dorothy and her siblings are "double cousins" of me and my siblings as her mom and my dad were brother and sister, and her dad and my mother were brother and sister, so this made us children feel like we were brothers and sisters. I was a good friend of your dad as well. Les and I played hockey together and then in the early fifties we went our separate ways. After that we didn't get to see each other very often. When Dorothy was a teenager and later as a young woman she was the most beautiful girl in Englehart and Les was lucky to win her heart. I apologize for not being able to attend Dorothy's funeral, but be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with you. May she rest in peace.
Sincerely, and God Bless

God looked around his garden And found an empty place Then he looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms aroiund you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. He knewthat you were suffering He knew you were in pain, He knew you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road getting rough and the hills were hard to climb So he closed your wearly eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine" Though the smile is gone forever and your hands we cannot touch We will always have sweet memories Of the one we loved so much
