Her Legacy… Irene LaMunyon, 70, passed away on April 18, 2024. She was born on July 03, 1953, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Berdetta Nickolai and was later adopted by her father Leland Knight. Irene married the love of her life, Robert LaMunyon, on December 22, 1971, in Aztec, New Mexico. She will be remembered as a practical woman who loved her family deeply. Irene was a person who had an insatiable love for learning new things throughout her life. She had a keen interest in various subjects. Irene was also a passionate gardener who grew multiple types of fruits and vegetables. She felt proud of her self-sufficiency skills as she learned how to repair clothing, grow her own produce and preserve it, and instill the importance of these skills in her children and grandchildren. She was very generous with her time and resources, equipping her family with skills to establish their own lives. Irene loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, primarily through her favorite activity, video calling. Her family and friends cherish Irene, and her presence will be deeply missed. 

Her Family… Irene will be missed by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert LaMunyon; her children, Jennifer (Tony) Breschini, Jason (Emily) LaMuyon; grandchildren, Tyler (Grace) Monson, Travis (Jessica) Monson, Hannah (Levi) Porter, Joshua Ratliff, Liam LaMunyon, Lillian LaMunyon, Landon LaMunyon; great-grandchild, Audrey Monson; She is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Berdetta Knight; her siblings, Tim Knight, Carroll Knight, and Julia Knight; her grandparents, Fred and Mildred Nickolai, who loved and parented Irene through much of her childhood.

Her Farewell… Irene’s family and friends will gather on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
