His Legacy… Carl William Klopshinske, 85, passed away December 9, 2019. He was born on June 20, 1934, in his home in Wayne, Michigan to John and Jennie (Kern) Klopshinske. Carl married the love of his life, Doreen (Higham) Klopshinske, on August 12, 1995, in Brighton, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband and grandfather. He was a long time and faithful member of Brighton Wesleyan Church and Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was also the director of bands at Brighton High School where he educated and inspired young people for 33 years. After retirement, he spent the next 15 years as a band director at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. He continued pursuing his love of music, spending the last 10 winters playing his trombone in the Venice Concert Band in Florida.
His Family… Carl will be missed by his spouse, Doreen Klopshinske; his step-children, Scott, Mike (Robyn), Lori (Stuart), and Glenn (Amy); grandchildren, Connor, Drew, Grant, Abby and Kate. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie Klopshinske; his siblings, Ralph, Ivan (Marge), Winton (Betty), Leone (Fred) and Arden (Audrey).
His Farewell… Carl’s family and friends will gather for a time of visitation from 3:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Brighton, Michigan. His Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00am (9:00am Gathering), Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Brighton, Michigan. Pastor Brian Tweedy will be presiding over the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund or Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
