His Legacy… Charles Lee Keep Sr., passed away on November 27, 2019 at the age of 74 after a long illness.  His ex –wife, and care giver, Clairus, and stepsons, Jerry Dunn, Jr. and Jonathan Dunn were by his side. He was born in Lansing, MI on August 30, 1945 to Kenneth and Marilyn (Mote) Keep.   He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Keep, one grandson, and his first wife, Mary Keep. Those left to cherish his memory, his mother, Marilyn Keep of Haslett, MI,; siblings, Rosalie Keep of Charlotte, MI, Carol (Ron) Wallis of Lansing, MI, Susie (Soheyl) Derakhshan of San Diego, CA;  his 3 sons, Charles Keep, Jr., Michael Keep, and Stephen Ayers Keep, all of the Lansing area; 3 daughters,  Deborah (Michael) Gleason, Elizabeth Pepperdine and Angie (Herb)  McCrum; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and Clairus Keep, his companion and care giver.

Charles was a member of the Brighton Church of Christ. He retired from GM after 37 years as an electrician.  After retiring he decided to become a realtor and was a member of the Livingston County Board of Realtors, working with Crossroads Real Estate and then retiring from All Around Realty, LLC in 2018 due to his health.  He started working as a paperboy on his bike in Lansing, MI, moving up to typesetter at the college newspaper. He was also a tow truck driver before his job at GM.  His hobbies were hunting, golfing and bowling with his dad.  He was also a Ham Radio operator with the call sign of W8CLK and was also a 32 Degree Mason.  He loved to travel and watch WWE any chance he could. In the 70’s he could be seen driving around the town of Lansing in his old Pinto dressed as Santa.

His Farewell… Charles’ family and friends will gather on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 12PM until the time of his Community Farewell Service at 2PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Pas. A.J. Snively will serve as celebrant.
