His Legacy… Leo Arthur Laraway, 88, passed away January 13, 2020. He was born on June 21,1931, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Dwight H. Laraway and Ida May (Thurston) Laraway. Leo married the love of his life, Cibila Elane (Laroe) Laraway, on September 12, 1951, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He worked for over 30 years in sheet metal, for the University of Michigan. Leo loved going up north with his family and grandchildren.  He was a family man 100 percent. Leo loved to tell stories to his grandkids and enjoyed sparking lots of imagination with them.  Aside from family, he loved to go racing and make things. Leo built a drag race car, that was featured in racing magazines. He also held the record in his racing division at the Milan Dragway. Later Leo, moved from drag racing to oval track racing. He will be remembered as the best father anyone could ever ask for.

His Family… Leo will be missed by his children, Victoria (Wayne) Johnson, Rebecca (Kenneth) Klapperich, and Richard (Patricia) Laraway; dear companion, Betty Lou “Blu” Monticelli; siblings, Carl, Ivy, Johnny, and Hack; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elane Laraway; his parents, Dwight and Ida May Laraway; and his brothers, William, Harold, Guy, and Norman.

His Farewell… Leo’s family and friends will gather Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4:00-8:00pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00am (10:00am gathering) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
