Howell, MI

Her Legacy…Marjorie J. Dahringer, age 83, passed away, September 6, 2018, surrounded by her family. Marge was born August 23, 1935 in Bad Axe, MI to Lester, and the late Catherine Alexander. She was raised in Elkton, MI by Lester and step mother, Ethel (Abbe) Alexander. Marge graduated from Saginaw General Hospital 3 year registered nursing program and worked as a RN for Ypsilanti State Hospital, Pediatric Nursing Director of Beyer Hospital, also in Ypsilanti, and was the school nurse for Brighton Elementary schools. Marge was a member of Howell First United Methodist Church and UMW, Red Hat Society, Questers and the Theater Guild in Florida, where she spent her winters on Nettles Island. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling, but most of all boat rides and sunsets on Lake Chemung. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Her Family…Marge is survived by her children, Jennifer (Glenn) Beal and Kelly (David) Hunsanger; step daughters, Barb (Jeff) McNally, Nan Dahringer, and stepson Jim Dahringer; grandchildren, Courtney Beal, Scott and Brianna Hunsanger; step grandchildren, Ian McNally and Zoe Dahringer; and brother Bob Alexander. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Douglas W. Koster in May 1985 and Rev. Edward Dahringer in October 2001.

Her Farewell…Marge’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 3:00-8:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel. Her Community Farewell will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00AM, with gathering beginning at 10AM, at Howell First United Methodist Church, 1230 Bower St. Howell, MI, Rev. George Lewis officiating. Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to United Methodist Women of Howell First United Methodist Church or Hatchet Country 4-H Club in Bad Axe, MI.
