Sannes, Agnes “Gail”
Taylor, MI
Her Legacy… Agnes Gail Sannes, lovingly known as Gail, passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on November 5, 1952, in Morton, Washington, to John Meade and Peggy Sue (Sturgill) Meade, Gail lived a life rooted in love, kindness, faith, and caring for others. On March 7, 1969, she married the love of her life, Walter Sannes, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and together they shared 57 beautiful years filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Gail had a heart that naturally cared for everyone around her. As an in-home childcare provider, she lovingly opened both her home and her heart to countless children, nurturing them with patience, warmth, comfort, and guidance as if they were her own. Caring for others was simply who she was. She tenderly cared for her parents in their later years, offered wisdom and encouragement to anyone in need, and never hesitated to help someone who was hurting. Gail had a rare gift for making people feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved. Her joyful spirit, comforting presence, and contagious smile could brighten even the hardest days. Beyond her caring nature, Gail was also a gifted poet and songwriter, quietly sharing her creativity through words filled with heart and meaning. Her faith in the Lord remained strong throughout her life and guided the compassion and grace she showed to others every day. Above all else, Gail cherished her family. She was a deeply devoted wife, an incredible mother and memaw, a loving daughter and sister, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Gail leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, selflessness, kindness, and unwavering care that will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Her Family… Gail’s greatest joy in life was the family she loved so deeply and so completely. She will be forever missed by her devoted husband of 57 years, Walter Sannes. Gail was a proud and loving mother to Lynn (Dan) Ratliff, Lori (Ryan) Bost, Leah (Don) Walters, and Benjamin (Pam) Sannes. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them, whether through laughter-filled gatherings, heartfelt conversations, or the quiet comfort of simply being together. Gail had a special gift for making each person in her family feel deeply loved, supported, and important. She was an extraordinary memaw whose warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit created lasting memories for her 12 grandchildren and great-grandchild, all of whom she adored beyond measure. Gail also shared a close bond with her brother, Boyd (Lorraine) Meade, and held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and caring nature.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, John and Peggy Meade; her brother, Gerald Meade; and two beloved grandchildren, whom she carried in her heart always. Though her family feels the deep pain of this loss, they also carry with them the incredible love, compassion, strength, and faith that Gail poured into their lives each and every day.
Her Celebration of Life… Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of the beautiful life of Gail Sannes on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Little Flock Church, 825 N. Maple Rd., Ann Arbor, Michigan. Visitation and gathering will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 PM honoring Gail’s remarkable legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion to family and friends. The service will be led by her son, Benjamin Sannes, whose words and memories will help celebrate the incredible woman Gail was to so many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Tabernacle of Ann Arbor to support the continued care of Walt and assist with funeral expenses. The family warmly welcomes messages of comfort, memories, and prayers during this difficult time. Condolences may be shared by signing Gail’s guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
