His Legacy… Alex Ray Cavins, 74, passed away January 30, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Pontiac, Michigan to Chester Lee Cavins and Mattie (Jenkins) Cavins. Ray and his brother, Bruce were the owners of Reasonable Roofing and Siding in Pinckney, Michigan since 1987; retiring in 2005. They were well respected in the community and did beautiful work. Ray loved working outside in the sunshine and had a great love for gardening. He found great peace sitting outside and watching nature. Ray enjoyed getting up early and walking to the gas station for his morning cappuccino and watching the sunrise. Ray enjoyed driving to Georgia to see family; he loved the quiet and calmness there. He took meticulous care of his truck and would spend hours washing and waxing it. Ray adored his dogs that he had throughout his life, Freddy, Rosie and Annabelle. He had faith in Jesus and enjoyed the time with his sister Anna reading the Divine Chaplet of Mercy. Ray loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews and was a wonderful friend to his family. Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Ray will be missed by his siblings, Mary Jo Schenk, Elaine Pappi, Sue (Jerry) Isbell, Brenda (Donny) Scott, twin sister, Anna Paffel, Sheila Nordeen, Bruce (Carolyn) Cavins, Wanda (Mike) Cavins; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mattie Cavins; sister, Marcella Howard; and brother, Leroy Cavins.
