Andrew Westervelt

Westervelt, Andrew (Andy) Ann Arbor, Michigan His Legacy… Andrew Gary Westervelt, 70, passed away June 22, 2020 after a long illness. He was born on February 14, 1950, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Franklin Westervelt and Louise (Andrews) Westervelt. Andy married the love of his life, Linda (McCarren) Westervelt, on December 3, 1988, in Highland, Michigan. Andy graduated from the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan, with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. He worked with the late Alan Lapczynski as an accountant for many years, most recently with Yeo & Yeo CPAs. His Family… Andy will be missed by his wife, Linda (McCarren) Westervelt; his children, Renee Westervelt, Eric Westervelt, Laura Westervelt, Peter Westervelt; his faithful sister, Wendy Westervelt; cousin, James (Aida) Ednie and his mother-in-law, Ann (Urbain) McCarren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Louise Westervelt and his father-in-law Robert McCarren, as well as Andy and Wendy’s grandparents, LaVerne and Bertha (Looker) Andrews; Herbert and Dorothy (Ulbright) Westervelt. Andy was a faithful husband, son and brother and father who enjoyed all of his children’s activities. He joined the Catholic Church on the Easter Vigil of 1989 with joy. Andy will be remembered by some as a dedicated bass trombonist at Ann Arbor High School. An avid fan of Michigan Football, he attended every home game for 54 years. The family cottage on Spider Lake was a favorite place full of happy memories with his grandparents and late cousin, Percy (Nettie) Andrus. Driving their boat was great fun for him. Andy also loved nature and pets of all kinds. His Farewell… Andy’s family and friends will gather for a private Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
