Her Legacy… Anita Louise Hessenaur, 69, passed away September 24, 2025.  She was born on February 12, 1956, in Trail, British Columbia to John Villiers-Fisher and Phillis (Sawyer) Villiers-Fisher. Anita married the love of her life, Gary Hessenaur, on September 27, 1980, in Brighton, Michigan. Anita worked for Gary’s accounting company, Hessenaur and Associates CPA, P.C. as a bookkeeper for 30 years. Anita earned her bachelor’s degree in art history from Eastern Michigan University, and although her career took her elsewhere, she always remained an incredibly artistic and creative person. She poured her heart into many hobbies, such as building beautifully detailed doll houses, sewing, crafting, gardening, and elaborate Lego sets. Anita’s passions also included football; having held U of M season tickets with Gary for over 40 years. Anita and Gary were also huge Disney fans and vacationed there often. She could often bounce between being somewhat of an introvert to having the biggest personality in the room; always being quick to laugh and share her joys with others.  Anita was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.  

Her Family… Anita will be missed by her husband, Gary Hessenaur; her children, Anthony Hessenaur, Aron Hessenaur; sisters, Kathy Schwindinger and Fran Villiers-Fisher. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Phillis Villiers-Fisher.  

Her Farewell… Anita’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 5:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Hamburg, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 1:00PM (12:00PM gathering), at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Hamburg, Michigan. Reverend Bill Donahue will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
