Barbara Carol Hutter (Vedder) 

Barbara Carol Hutter (Vedder), age 88, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026. Born on June 19, 1938, Barbara lived a life defined by unwavering love, devotion to her family, enduring faith, and quiet grace. 

Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Hutter, whom she married on July 16, 1960. Together, Bob and Barb built a beautiful life over nearly six decades of marriage until Bob’s passing on May 4, 2019. Their marriage was one of deep love, unwavering commitment, and true partnership. After Bob’s passing, Barb often spoke of the day they would be reunited. Her faith sustained her through the years that followed, and in her final days, she chose hospice care with peace in her heart, comforted by the thought of seeing her beloved Bob once again. 

Together, Barb and Bob raised two children, Sandra Martin and Robert Hutter. Barb was a devoted mother who cherished the family they built together. The loss of her son, Robert, on September 30, 2022, was one of the greatest sorrows of her life. She also grieved the loss of her son-in-law, William “Bill” Martin, on December 8, 2023. Bill was a beloved part of the family for many years, and Barb cared for him deeply. Through these heartbreaking losses, Barb found comfort in her faith and in the love of her family. 

Before retiring, Barbara worked as a secretary before dedicating herself fully to caring for her home and family. She took immense pride in creating a warm, welcoming home where everyone felt loved. Barbara was a woman of grace, pride, and attention to detail. She kept a beautiful home, always took care in her appearance, and found joy in the simple routines that reflected the love and care she brought into every part of her life. 

One of Barbara’s greatest joys was the family’s vacation home up north on Beaver Lake. The lake became a special place where she and Bob created countless memories, welcomed family and friends, and enjoyed time together. After Bob retired, they spent many wonderful years living there, embracing the peaceful surroundings and the opportunity to host and spend time with the people they loved. 

Following Bob’s passing, Barbara became deeply involved in her church community, where she found comfort, friendship, and renewed purpose. Her church family brought her companionship and strength, and her faith remained the foundation of her life. 

Barbara shared a very special bond with her daughter, Sandra. Their relationship grew even stronger through the years, especially as they faced the heartbreaking loss of Barbara’s husband, Bob; her son, Robert; and Sandra’s husband, Bill. Through these difficult times, they provided each other with comfort, strength, and unconditional love. The closeness they shared was a treasured gift in Barbara’s life. 

Above all else, Barbara was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. She celebrated every milestone, treasured every visit, and had a remarkable way of making everyone who entered her home feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Hutter; her son, Robert Hutter; her son-in-law, William Martin; her parents, Ruth and Robert Vedder; her brother, Robert Vedder; her sister, Sharon Krantz; and her brother-in-law, Jerome Krantz. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Martin; daughter-in-law, Michelle Hutter; brother, Larry (Jean) Vedder; sister-in-law, Elaine Vedder; grandchildren, William (Tiffany) Martin, Jennifer (Matthew) Milton, Megan Hutter (Ocho), and Katherine Hutter (Sam); great-grandson, Matthew Milton Jr.; and many extended family members and dear friends. 

Barbara also held a very special place in her heart for Caroline (Matthew) Naif and their children, Briella and Brady Naif, whom she loved as family. 

While her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing Barbara has been reunited with the love of her life. After years of longing to see Bob again, they are together once more—a reunion she had faithfully hoped and prayed for. 

Barbara’s legacy is one of unconditional love, enduring faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit, welcoming home, and generous heart will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
