Barbara Kay (Read) Newman

Her Legacy… Barbara Kay Newman, 66, passed away April 17, 2021. She was born on February 26, 1955, in Howell, Michigan to Robert and Genevieve (Bullis) Read. Barb was a firefighter for Putnam Township, MI prior to retirement. She loved animals, nature, and flowers. Most of all, Barb loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, creative, inventive, and headstrong person that loved life. Barb will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Barb will be missed by her children, Nate (Laura) Clark, Kathryn (Miguel) Suarez, Joseph (Emily) Newman; siblings, Thomas (LaVerne) Read, Nancy (Gerald) Pike, Becky (David) Bennett; grandchildren, Emily Clark, Ryan Clark, Charlotte Horne, Wesley Horne, Anna Horne,  Elijah Suarez, Alicia Suarez. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Her Farewell… Barb’s Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel with a gathering beginning at 11AM until the time of service. Reverend Bill Donahue will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Livingston County Humane Society.
