Benedict "Ben" Storemski Jr. Obituary

Benedict (Ben) Storemski Jr.

Dexter, MI

His Legacy… Benedict “Ben” Joseph Storemski Jr., 78, passed away November 28, 2025. Ben was born on April 26, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan to Benedict Storemski Sr. and Magdalen (Chie) Storemski. Ben loved his mother’s faith and dad teaching him to fish. Ben was close to his 3 siblings. His older sister, Fran, he loved their talks and laughs they had together, playing cards with sister Nancy, and Pam’s German Chocolate cake. Ben always worked hard from a young age with a generous heart. When Ben was a teen, he worked at a sod farm and plant nursery lifting heavy items. After graduating Belleville High School at 18 in 1965, he was hired by Ford Motor Co. on production.

In 1968, Ben joined a branch of the Air Force to serve his country. After the military, Ben returned to Fords. In 1973 Ben took the skilled trades test, scoring 2nd in the group. He chose hydraulics and enrolled in Henry Ford College where he graduated and became a Journeyman Skill Trades. In 1967 Ben married Janis and had 3 children, Mike, Lori and Jim. In 1984 Ben became the UAW-Ford local 849 Skilled Trades Union Representative. In 1988 Ben became UAW-Ford Local 849 Plant Chairman to Representative, representing both skilled trades and production of the entire plant. In 1990 Ben was asked to be one of a small group hired by International UAW (United Auto Workers). He worked in Detroit at UAW-Ford Department. After a few years he was moved to UAW Solidarity House. Ben also taught classes at Eastern MI College. In 2005, after 40 years of working for Ford and UAW, Ben retired and loved it. In 1989 Ben married wife Annette and spent 36 years together. Ben became a second father to Annette’s 3 sons, Michael, Shawn and Daniel. Ben & Annette have one daughter together, Kelsey. In 1998 Ben and Annette moved to Pinckney, Michigan, where they found a church family at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Ben joined the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation Adults) sponsoring people to the church. He also became a Eucharistic Minister (a layperson to distribute Body and Precious Blood of Jesus), Men’s Club, Mass Captain and other committees to serve the Lord wherever he could until his body gave out. He was a good and faithful servant to God. Ben’s heart was broken when stepson Shawn, nephews Ricky, Andy and sister Fran passed away. He loved them all. Ben enjoyed many activities, camping with Annette, family and good friends, playing the marble board game, golfing (he received a plaque for a hole in one), bowling (he received a ring for a 299 score), boating, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles and hunting in the past with his boys, and visits from daughters. Ben in his later years looked forward to almost every Sunday watching Nascar or football with stepson, Michael. Ben loved spending time with Annette, family and friends. Ben loved most of all sitting on his deck with his Annie, dogs Athena and Sassy, watching the sunset over the lake. Ben was deeply loved by his wife Annette, family, church family, friends and dogs. He will be greatly missed by all.
