Brian Lounsberry Obituary

Brian William Lounsberry

Brighton, Michigan

His Legacy

Brian William Lounsberry, 49, passed away on February 28, 2026. Born on July 24, 1976, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Vernon D. Lounsberry and Cathleen (Sherman) Burton, Brian was raised in Hell, Michigan — a hometown he proudly referenced with a grin. Brian married the love of his life, Katharine George, on July 18, 2009, in Ann Arbor. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and devotion to their daughter, Abby, who was his greatest joy.

Brian dedicated his career to the automotive aftermarket industry. He spent more than 15 years at Motovicity Distribution, where he served in key leadership roles eventually becoming Chief Executive Officer. In September 2021, Brian founded MidwayPlus.com, a forward-thinking company designed to transform how automotive brands connect with their B2B customers through best practices and innovative software solutions. He was awarded a patent for innovations he developed for multi-tenant marketplaces and received numerous industry honors recognizing his leadership, service, and impact. He took immense pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brian lived life at full throttle. A lifelong enthusiast of anything with a motor, he was often heard saying, “Why walk when you can ride?” He loved motorcycles, dirt bikes, water skiing, and boating. He famously ‘souped up’ both his golf cart and his daughter’s pink Barbie Jeep — because if it had wheels, it deserved more horsepower. Brian had a rare gift for lighting up a room. His energy was contagious, his laughter unmistakable, and his loyalty unwavering. He adored his wife and daughter, and his family meant everything to him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His Family

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Katharine Lounsberry; his cherished daughter, Abby Lounsberry; his mother, Cathleen (Gerald) Burton; his father, Vernon (Lezlie) Lounsberry; his brother, Mike Lounsberry; his sister-in-law, Margaret (Scott) Weeks; his nieces, Ella and Ava Weeks; his cousins, Dan Little, Randy Wheeler, Scott Wheeler; his uncle, Bob (Julie) Voigt; his cousins, Konner and Garrett Voigt; and his parents-in-law, Carol and Ed George. He was preceded in death by his beloved pugs, Petey and Frank.
