C James (Jim) Hardesty, 98, passed away October 28, 2020. He was born on February 2, 1922, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Cloyd Hardesty and Eletha B (Mullen) Hardesty. Jim married Ralpha Gene Brown on June 19, 1948 in Salem, Michigan. Ralpha died in Auust of 2011.
Jim will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband and father. After distinguished service as a bomber pilot in the Second World War, he earned his college degree from Michigan State College (now MSU). Jim worked as a landscape architect and contractor, and was recognized nationally for his work. He retired in 1984.
Jim is survived by his wife, Julia Rutty Hardesty; his sons, Ronald Cloyd and David Allison, five grandchildren and step-grandchildren, James, Claire, Joshua, Paul and Chris; eight great grandchildren; his last surviving sibling, Darrel; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Due to the pandemic, the memorial will be postponed until sometime in the spring or early summer. Details will be posted on various family social media pages.
