His Legacy. CARL WADE DANKERT, 76, of Howell, passed away February 28th at University of Michigan Hospital. Carl was born October 15, 1944 in Detroit and raised in Davison. A 1961 graduate of Bentley High School in Burton, Carl attended the University of Michigan and worked for years as a Certified Public Accountant and controller for Lewis & Knopf, Michigan Bell Communications and Flint’s Engineered Products Co. (EPCO) before retiring in 2011. He was a devout Christian and most recently attended Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton. He loved spending time with family, and passionately following local and national political events. He’ll be remembered for his impeccable style, especially in gentlemanly accessories such as hats and shoes, his wry sense of humor and his outstanding taste in and love for music. 

His Family. Carl will be missed by his loving wife Donna; his children Geoffrey (Andrew Buchholz) and Elizabeth (Tim) Vogan, and his stepdaughter Kathleen (Carmino) Mennillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elizabeth and his stepmother Martelle. 

His Farewell. A visitation is set for Thursday, March 4th from 2:30 to 6:00 pm, and again on Friday, March 5th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel, 312 S. Michigan Avenue in Howell. A brief service will be held at the Lamb Chapel on Friday at 11:00 am.
