Her Legacy… Carol Joy Pode, 78, passed away on December 5, 2021 at her home in Pinckney. During her final days she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Carol was born on December 12, 1942 to the late Aldo and Dorothy Panico. Carol was married to the love of her life Ron for 58 years. Carol had a valiant and hard fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease for 12 years. Ron and Carol attended numerous conferences, workshops, and presentations. They belonged to the Livingston and the Ann Arbor Parkinson’s support groups. As avid U of M football fans, Carol and her family had season tickets for over 40 years. Fall Saturdays were spent at the games or watching away games on TV. Carol loved children and enjoyed her teaching career and was very fulfilled by it. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carol also enjoyed shopping, traveling and had a love of flowers and gardening. Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Carol will be missed by her husband, Ronald Pode; her children, Dr. Robert P. Pode, Melissa (Mike) Goyette, Steve (Laura) Pode; siblings Tom (Denise) Panico and Diane Alexander; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Jordan), Brittany, David, Amanda, Erica, Lindsay, Allison, Andrew, Brendan, Alec, Riley, Mason, Bailey, Hayden, Tiffany, Jenna; great grandson, Maverick. She is preceded in death by her parents, Aldo and Dorothy Panico and her husband’s parents, Helmuth and Johanna Pode.

Her Farewell… Carol’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 3:00PM-7:00PM (rosary at 6:00PM), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pinckney, Michigan at 10:30AM (9:30 gathering). Father Dan Kogut will serve as celebrant.
