Bendena, Carolyn
Pinckney, MI
Her Legacy… Carolyn Sophia Bendena, 78, passed away October 30, 2023. She was born on November 25, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Victor Hruszczyk and Florence (Supranowicz) Hruszczyk. Carol married the love of her life, Larry Bendena, on July 7, 1962, in Oak Park, Michigan. Carol was a long standing member of St. Mary’s Parish, a devout Catholic who gave to many charities. Inspirational and devotional cards could always be found throughout her home. She had a strong faith and hope which sustained her throughout life and her medical journey as well. Family was everything to Carol; she was very supportive and always attended every show, concert and sporting event that her children and grandchildren took part in. She raised her children in a musical and artistic home, and enjoyed crafting and decorating. Her passion for cooking, baking and celebrating those in her life were just a few of her outstanding traits. Carol’s rich Polish heritage was passed along to her children and grandchildren. She was quiet and gentle, with a kindness that is hard to come by these days. Carol was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Her Family… Carol will be missed by her beloved husband, Larry Bendena; her children, Lawrence (Patty) Bendena, Lisa (Glenn) Higgins, Rebecca Novak, Laura (Glen) Stroup, David (Vicky) Bendena; sister, Shirley (Ronald) Watkins; grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Elizabeth, Matthew (Brooke), Brendan, Robert, Evan, Katie, Lily, Ryan, Teddy, Zosia, Stella, Jonathan; great grandchildren, Maximilian, Elijah; sister-in-law, Judy Hruszczyk; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, Rusty. She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Florence Hruszczyk; and brother, Victor Hruszczyk.
