His Legacy… Charles Wayne Eggert, 81, passed away September 14, 2022.  He was born on June 7, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles A. Eggert and Ruby (Ostrander) Eggert. Wayne married the love of his life, Linda Ann Costie, on March 12, 1960, in Brighton, Michigan. Wayne was quiet, but a “man of many jokes” who had a great sense of humor. He was a very caring and social man, and he enjoyed fishing, boating, his morning newspaper, Elvis, and “real” (old school) country music. Wayne was an avid car enthusiast. He could identify the make and model of any car, and made a hobby of attending car shows. He became a test driver for General Motors, from where he retired after 25 years. After his retirement, he and Linda enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Wayne also discovered he was an artist through his newfound delight in adult paint-by-number pictures, and enjoyed watercolors. He will be greatly missed.

His Family… Wayne will be missed by his wife, Linda Eggert; his children, Marie (Scott) McKnight and Michele Kaminski; siblings Sharon Dunning, Beverly Burrison, and Ruth (Joe) Cybart; grandchildren Melissa (Danny), Aaron, Paul, Kayla, Justin, Tara, and Jared; Great grandchildren Hannah and Cora; many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Charles Eggert and his son, Stephen Eggert.

His Farewell… Wayne’s family and friends will gather Monday, September 19, 2022, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm (Rosary at 7pm), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg, Michigan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11:00am (10am gathering). Father Dan Kogut will serve as celebrant. He will be buried at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
