His Legacy… Charles William McEwan, 84, passed away November 3, 2022. He was born on October 1, 1938, in Brighton, Michigan to James McEwan and Mary Katherine (Calkins) McEwan. Charles was a hard working family man who never quit anything. He was an amazing woodworker, everyone always enjoyed his beautiful creations. He lived to work and always stayed busy. He enjoyed gardening, going to family reunions, and loved all sports, and coached his children’s little league games. Charles lived for his grandkids, often saying “If I had known how much fun grandkids were, I would have had them first”. He would often travel many hours just to see his grandchildren or attend their events. He enjoyed reading and would often read books to his grandchildren. Charles was well loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Charles will be missed by his children, Gail (Ed) Bowers, Jeff (Missy) McEwan, Joy (Edward) Pelto, Mike (Trisha) McEwan, Timothy (Samantha) McEwan; siblings, Donald McEwan, Sandy Mayer, Dick McEwan, Beatrice Larson, Merri Kay Earehart, Denise Ward; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Katherine McEwan; and siblings, Jimmy, Margaret “Sis”, Gerald “Butch”, Kathryn “Kat”, Robert, and Stanley “Joey”.
His Farewell… Charles’s family and friends will gather from 10AM-12PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will follow at 12:00PM.
