Charles Edwin Roose Jr.

His Legacy…Charles Edwin Roose Jr., 74, passed away on March 11, 2023.  He was born in Garden City, Michigan on December 29, 1948 to Charles Edwin Roose Sr. and Frances Josephine (Kern) Roose. Charlie married the love of his life, Patricia Schrader, on June 28, 1975 at First Presbyterian Church in Brighton, Michigan.  Charlie will be remembered as a natural born helper and care-taker who loved his family.  His light and jovial spirit and affinity for laughter made him a joy to be around such that he made friends everywhere he went . When his children were young, he took the time to be with them around their interests, whether that was watching sports or playing video games. Later in life, Charlie especially loved spending time playing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed animals and even more difficult pets seemed to love him as well. Charlie’s heart to care for stray animals was something that had Patricia smitten from the beginning. Charlie was committed to maintain all things around the home in working order and could often be found tinkering. Other parts of his routine included visiting the coffee shop in the morning, working on wood projects in the garage, and exercising at home in his commitment to be healthy and fit. Charlie also served as a Marine in the Vietnam War and loved his country. He spent many years working at General Motors as an engineer and test driver.

His Family… Charlie will be missed by his wife Patricia; his children, Stacey Roose, Tammy (Chris) Roose-Woodward, Joseph (Anne) Roose; siblings, Katherine Spice, Suzanne (Ger) Fritch, Joyce Brown, George (Becky) Roose; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Mikaela, Jakob, Gabriella, Blake, and Abigail. He is preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell… Charlie’s family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11 AM for a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Howell.
