Her Legacy… Clelia “Claire” Filomenia Schindler, 82, passed away September 2, 2025. She was born on March 24, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Francesco Vozza and Olga (Vennettilli) Vozza. Claire was married to her first husband in 1963, and then married Donald Schindler, on March 22, 1975, in Redford, Michigan. She will be remembered as a persevering woman, a loving soul, and tough mom that did what she could for her family. Claire loved cake decorating, painting, pottery, and having a coffee with her paper in the morning.
Her Family… Claire will be missed by her children, David (Aileen) Picano, Gino Picano, Randy (Sonya) Picano, Mario (Lisa) Picano, and Dennis Picano; siblings, Bob Vozza, and Al (Pat) Vozza; grandchildren, Chris Picano, Nick Picano, Alyssa Parks, Nathan Picano, Carson Picano, Isabella Picano, and Aidan Micallef; great grandchildren, Dominic Picano, Luciano Picano, and Lillian Parks. Claire is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Schindler.
Her Farewell… Claire’s family and friends will gather Thursday September 11th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel in Hamburg, Michigan. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday September 12th, at 11:00AM (10:00AM gathering), at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Father Jonathan Perrotta will serve as celebrant. Burial will take place at a future time at Holy Spirit Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
