It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Darel Hardesty, aged 89, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Darel was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who devoted much of his life to his family. He was always there for them, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love.
In addition to his family, Darel had many passions in life. He loved sports, both playing and watching, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, playing golf, boating, hunting and fishing.
Darel was a man of faith and was actively involved in his church community. His kind heart and generosity were evident in everything he did. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need and he had a way of making everyone feel welcome.
Darel was blessed to find love twice in his life. He was survived by his second wife, Bonita, who stood by his side for nearly 19 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Noreen after being married for 49 years, and granddaughter Annie Scholten.
Darel's legacy will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be forever missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Hamburg, MI.
