Darlene Mavis (Ford) Curtis

Her Legacy… Darlene Mavis Curtis, age 92, passed away September 12, 2022. She was born on March 13, 1930, in Hackensack, MN to Albert and Clara (Englehart) Ford. Darlene was the owner of Darlene Curtis Real Estate for 40 years. She sponsored the Curtis Real Estate bowling team for 25 years. Darlene was a lifetime member of Whitmore Lake Rod and Gun Club. She was very active in Whitmore Lake. Darlene walked the Mackinac Bridge with her family for 15 years. She was a world traveler, enjoyed going on cruises, and riding with her son Bill on his Harley motorcycle. Darlene was an avid University of Michigan fan, especially U of M football and women’s softball. She will be remembered for using Mom’s Math at the casino and advising people to not do anything she wouldn’t do. Darlene will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Darlene leaves behind her children, Susan Radloff, Robert (Cynthia Stoll), Kathlene (Richard) Poole, and William; grandchildren, Kristen (Kenneth) Koons, Starrlite Price, Ryan Radloff, Lauren (Ronald) Kerekes, Victoria (Zachary) Gyokeres, and Arleen (Shaun) Ketrow; great grandchildren, Eryn (Cameron) Tschupp, Nicholas Koons, Allison Koons, Paige Koons, Maggie Gyokeres, and Samantha Eastman; and great-great grandchild, Zander Green. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hammond Curtis; and siblings, Paul, Marvin, Donald, Cecil, Delores, and Leonard Ford.

Her Farewell… Darlene’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4-8PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11AM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel with a gathering beginning at 10AM until the time of service. Darlene will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Green Oak Township, MI. Pastor Scott Phillips will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Whitmore Lake Rod and Gun Club.
