David Haraf Obituary

His Legacy… David James Haraf, 67, passed away March 3, 2026.  He was born on February 25, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to Chester Haraf and Eleanor (Nalepka) Haraf. Dave married the love of his life, Katherine “Chris” (McCarthy) Haraf, on July 26, 1985, at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Detroit, Michigan. He will be remembered as a hardworking, loving man who cherished his family and faith. A devout Catholic, faith was always important to Dave. After retiring from CBRE, he spent some of his free time trying out his luck at the casino. On pleasant days, Dave could be found working outside on his garden or manicuring his lawn. If he wasn’t outside, you could find him with a good book or spending quality time with his family. Most of all, Dave will be remembered as a hardworking provider and protector, and a wonderful husband and father.

His Family… Dave will be missed by his loving wife, Chris Haraf, and his daughters, Katie Haraf and Megan (Edward Smit) Haraf. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Eleanor Haraf, his brother, John (Martha) Haraf, and his nephew, Cole Haraf.
