David Miles Pozniak

His Legacy…David Miles Pozniak, 69, passed away March 11, 2023.  He was born on December 17, 1953, in Southfield, Michigan to Bernard Pozniak and Charlotte Cuddy Pozniak. Dave married the love of his life, Jacalyn “Jackie” Nelson, on September 4, 1976 on Jackie’s parents farm in Hartland.  Dave will be remembered as a highly intelligent and reserved man who was committed to protect and care for his family, and loved to travel.  He traveled the world as a Project Manager business consultant setting up business systems and networks, but also loved exploring lands far and wide with Jackie and family, from Costa Rica, Hawaii, Australia, Alaska, New Zealand, and Ecuador to Belize and especially enjoyed Sanibel Island. Dave enjoyed golf, watching sci-fi movies, took amazing photographs, and enjoyed spending time with friends on birding trips. Music was an important part of Dave’s life, his favorite genre being singer/songwriter/female vocalist and Irish music, especially Ed Sheeran, and Mumford & Sons. He always wanted to be busy working on projects around the house, once even stripping wallpaper in a room at home when he was too sick to go to work. Dave was also a wood worker, building things like the beautiful desk he used in his home office. He always wanted to keep up with current events, culture and world events. He donated to a handful of charities that were important to him, such as Habitat for Humanity, Gleaners Food Bank and World Kitchen.

His Family… Dave will be missed by his wife Jackie; his children, Sarah (Tim) Schneider, Ben (Liz) Wonder; sister, Karen (Morris) Christlieb; grandchildren, Brandon, Charlotte, and Sebastian, nephew Andrew and niece Kate. He is preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell… Dave’s family and friends will gather from 11AM to 1 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel. Bill Donahue will serve as Celebrant.
