His Legacy… David Louis Wenzel, age 80, passed away April 24, 2021. He was born on April 12, 1941, in Detroit, MI to Raymond and Irene (Previch) Wenzel. The day after high school graduation, he went into the Marine Corp from 1959-1962.   Dave came back home and married the love of his life, Susan Carlson, on June 10, 1967 in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 1970. Dave was a metallurgical engineer prior to owning his own business. He owned Ted Cobb Boats and Motors in Lakeland, MI for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 2005. Dave liked history and airplanes. He also enjoyed going to the casino and Longboat Key, FL. Dave will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Dave leaves behind his wife, Susan; sons, Brian (Amy), Matthew; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Cepeda, Justin, Brittany (Hamilton) Zachariahs, Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Brayden and Avery Cepeda, and Baby Zachariahs due in September. He is also survived by his brother, Donald; nephew, Little Ron Wenzel; and many additional cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald.

His Farewell… Dave’s Community Gathering will be held at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 3PM until 7:00pm with a Memorial Service at 6:00pm. Reverend Tom Huff to serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a tree fund in memory of Dave.
