His Legacy…David Glenn Westermann, 65, passed away June 17, 2020.  He was born on March 22, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald Westermann and June (Fritz) Westermann. David married the love of his life, Jeanette Westermann, on February 14, 1999, in Hamburg, Michgan.   He will be remembered as a devout Christian, loving husband, caring father, and devoted grandfather. David loved having fun and making people laugh with his “dad humor.” As a huge Packer’s fan, David often claimed to be a part-owner of the team. He was also passionate about trains. The grandkids loved the model train layouts he would design in his house for them and the train trips he would plan for the family. David was an animal lover. He had a beloved puppy named Dali, and made sure to keep the birds and squirrels in his yard fed. He could often be found listening to his favorite band Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Of all his many passions, the most important was spending time with his family.   

His Family… David will be missed by his wife, Jeanette Westermann; his children, Johnathan D. Westermann, David A. (Lindsey) Westermann Ayers, Fr. Daniel Westermann, Justine (Joe) Jeffery, Pamela (Marc) Levitt, Kristen (Sam) Piraine, Jennifer Mathison; siblings, Paul (Pam) Westermann; grandchildren, Peter, Maria, Laela, Finn, Valerie, William, Ava, Nicky; his siblings-in-law, Bev & Steve Coulter, and Alice & Scott Thornburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and June Westermann.

His Farewell… David’s family and friends will gather Sunday, June 21, 2020, at 4:00pm until the vigil starting at 7:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Dexter, Michigan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, on Monday, June 22, 2020. Fr. Daniel Westermann will serve as presider. Memorial contributions are suggested to St Joseph Catholic Parish or Malecare Prostate Cancer Organization.
