Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother Deanna Jane DeWolf, age 80, sadly passed away on April 28, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1946, in Sturgis, Michigan to Art and Shirley Stenke. Although she spent her early years on her grandparents farm in Ann Arbor, it was when she moved to Hamburg that she first saw the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) DeWolf, in the upstairs window of Hamburg Elementary School.
Jane married her love, Chuck, on August 3, 1968. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage, raising their three daughters in Hamburg. While raising her children, Jane spent time reading, playing Euchre (or other games like dice and marbles), hunting for antique treasures, looking for rocks during family camping trips, and bowling. She was an active member of St. Stephen’s Church and spent time as a Girl Scout Leader for her daughters’ troops. Jane also enjoyed going to the movies, often taking her kids and their cousins. She was very proud of the time she spent as a hostess at McDonald’s in Whitmore Lake planning events, such as bingo for senior citizens.
Jane loved nothing better than spending time with her family and friends telling stories of her life and hearing about theirs, maybe even over a tea party. Jane will be greatly missed by her husband, Chuck DeWolf; her children, Sue (Jack) Williams, Shelly (Don) Lyon, and Stacie (Bobby) Anderson; her grandchildren, Jessica (Scott), Chuck (Brittany), Alicia (Luke), Austin, Lillie (Marty), Logan, Autumn; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Bill) McCormick, brothers, Jim and John Stenke. She is preceded in death by Art and Shirley Stenke and sister, Sharon.
Following Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place and only a joyous gathering is wanted to share good times. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Remembrance of Life Celebration at The Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club at 6060 M-36, Whitmore Lake Michigan, 48189 on May 31st at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Hamburg. Please leave a message of comfort for Jane's family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign her guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
