His Legacy… Dennis Edward Purdy, 74, passed away November 29, 2025. He was born September 8, 1951, in Three Rivers, MI to Edward Purdy and Carol (Yoder) Purdy. He graduated from Niles High School in 1970 and went on to graduate from Michigan State with his master’s degree in 1978. Dennis married the love of his life, Nancy Thiede, 50 years ago on September 20, 1975, in Franklin, Michigan. He will be fondly remembered as a no-nonsense, kind and very patient man. Dennis had a knack for being a jokester and was a great role model for those around him. He gave his time and talents as a district executive to the Boy Scouts before becoming a finance director, and then a fund raiser for various non-profit groups. His greatest role in life was “Pops”, as family was most important in his life. He also enjoyed golfing, woodworking and was an avid Michigan State hockey and Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. Dennis will be dearly missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
His Family… Dennis will be missed by his loving wife, Nancy Purdy; his children, Elizabeth (Kevin) Jackson, Emily (Patrick) Korroch, Matthew (Martina) Purdy; siblings, Jerilynne Purdy; grandchildren Paige, Makenna, Nikolas, Zakary, Bentleigh, Quinn, Gabe, Luka (Kira), Noah; great grandchild, Lucina; and his best four-legged buddy, Eddie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Carol Purdy.
