Derrick Lynch Obituary

Derrick John Lynch, age 34, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jessena Lynch and Judy Burnside. Derrick was a cherished son, grandson, brother, and father.

Derrick was born at the USAF Hospital in Altus, OK. He was a very happy child, a good student, and growing up he played many different sports and loved being active. He graduated from Dexter High School in 2004. He attended Western Michigan University where he met his partner, Shawna Jones. In 2008, they moved to Florida. He attended St. Petersburg College where he earned an Associate Degree. In 2009, Derrick and Shawna had a beautiful daughter, Juliette, whom he treasured and loved.

Derrick had artistic talent and he worked well with his hands. He was good at drawing and worked as a handyman, carpenter, and landscaper. Derrick enjoyed the outdoors and liked biking, hiking, playing golf and disc golf, swimming, and working out. He loved water fights, the wildest rollercoasters, trips up north, and being with his family.

Derrick was a loving and kind soul, had a wonderful engaging smile, bright inquisitive eyes, and an easy infectious laugh. Derrick will be deeply missed and will always be loved and in our hearts.

Derrick is survived by his parents, Steve and Lynette Lynch; brother Jason Lynch; daughter Juliette Lynch; grandfathers John Lynch and Darvin Burnside. He is also survived by four aunts, four uncles, and twelve cousins. Please leave a message of comfort for Derrick’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
