Her Legacy… Diane Ocha, 73, passed away September 13, 2022.  She was born on August 13, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan to Gilbert Adrian and Vada (Raleigh) Matheny. Diane married the love of her life, Montie Ocha, on June 22, 1973, in Westland, Michigan. Diane became a born-again Christian at a young age, and graduated from high school in 1967. Upon graduating, she worked at Ford Motors for 8 years until she married Montie, her loving husband of almost 50 years. After their marriage, they moved to Pinckney, where Diane raised her two children, Jason and Kylie, and lived until the end of her life. She worked in the Pinckney schools for over 30 years. She also helped Montie with some of the dinners at the local American Legion and selling cookies. Diane enjoyed cooking, and made everything from scratch. Her family remembers some of her excellent meals, which included French hamburgers and Hungarian cabbage rolls among many others. She also loved tending her flowers for as long as she was able. She will be greatly missed.

Her Family… Diane will be missed by her husband Montie; her children, Jason (Laurie) and Kylie (Jesse) Harper; siblings, Gilbert Donald (Donna), Freddy Albert, and Pamela Sue (Rick); grandchildren, Kelsie (Kyle), Kalista, Ella, Laken (Terry), and Cody (Mariah); great granddaughters, Alaya; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vada Nell and Gilbert Adrian Matheny.

Her Farewell… Diane’s family and friends will gather from 2:00pm – 8:00pm, Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel in Pinckney, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel in Pinckney, Michigan (10am gathering). Pastor Chris Johnson will serve as celebrant. She will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
