Her Legacy… Dixie Lee Russell, 83, passed away August 17, 2024.  She was born on March 31, 1941, in Farmington Township, Michigan to Ansel Hodgens and Bessie (Johnson) Hodgens. Dixie married the love of her life, Paul Russell, on October 27, 1962, in Pinckney, Michigan. She will be remembered as a very social and active lady that loved to travel. Dixie spent a lot of time traveling with her family to almost all of the states in the US.  She was a very inviting person and enjoyed talking to everyone she met.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Her Family… Dixie will be missed by her husband, Paul Russell; her children, Ann (Ray) Spychala, Kevin (Sylvia) Russell; siblings, Ed Hodgens, Anslee Anderson; grandchildren Raychel Spychala, Erin Spychala, Shawn Russell; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ansel and Bessie Hodgens.

Her Farewell… Dixie’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel in Pinckney, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, 11:00 AM (10:00 AM Gathering), at Trinity Lutheran Church at 5758 M-36 Pinckney, MI.  Pastor Michael Ruhl will serve as celebrant.
