Her Legacy… Dolores Marjorie McCaffery, age 90, passed away September 19, 2025. She was born on November 21, 1934 in Detroit, MI to John and Eleanor (Opalewski) Wojcik. Dolores married the love of her life, George McCaffery, on January 31, 1953 in Detroit, MI. She enjoyed traveling with George to Germany. In her spare time, Dolores loved reading, shopping, playing with dogs, and growing flowers in the spring. Most of all, she loved spending Christmas with her family. Dolores will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Family… Dolores leaves behind her daughters, Kathleen (Robert Martinelli) Mitz and Sharon (Mike) Clontz; Shannon (Glenn), Eric (Andrea), Jessica (Jesse), Nicholas (Jess), Brandie (Rob), Christopher (Sara), Jamie (Alex); and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; son, Michael; son-in-law, Dale Mitz; great granddaughter, Isabella Clontz; brother, Edward Wojcik; and sister, Joann Hill.
Her Farewell… Dolores’ family and friends will gather on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 3-8PM with a rosary at 7PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Howell, MI. Her Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at (9:30 AM Gathering) 10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Ricket Road, Brighton, MI. Father Mathias Thelen will serve as celebrant. Dolores will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fowlerville, MI. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sunshine Cottage.
