With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Dorene Imogene Broyles announce her passing on June 11, 2025, at the age of 89.

Her Legacy...

A devout follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Dorene lived her life as a faithful witness to God’s love—sharing the good news of the Gospel wherever she went. She was born on December 5, 1935, in Morganton, Georgia, to Henry and Thelma (Botts) Wright and was one of six children.

Although accounting was her vocation for many years, Dorene’s true life’s work was serving her risen Savior. She lived her life on mission—living out her faith through involvement in churches in both Michigan and Georgia, as well as missionary work in Chile and Kenya. She had a deep passion for sharing the love of God found in John 3:16 and was devoted to loving others as Christ loved her.

In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping trips with her sister, Dorothy, and cherished time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Dorene will be remembered for her joyful spirit, faithful witness, and the way she pointed others to Jesus.

Her Family...

Dorene leaves behind her brothers: Dennis Wright, Don Wright, Dean (Sandy) Wright, and Doug (Beth) Wright; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norm; her sister, Dorothy (Eugene) Smith; and her sister-in-laws, Diane Wright and Jerry Wright.

Her Farewell...

Dorene’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 3:30 PM at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home, Blue Ridge Chapel, with a gathering beginning at 1:30 PM. She will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery in Morganton, GA.

In honor of her compassionate heart and generous spirit, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
