Edward (Doc) Robert Rudin

His Legacy…Edward (Doc) Robert Rudin, 79, passed away on June 23rd, 2026.  He was born on January 9th, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Marie (Kretz) Rudin. Edward married the love of his life, Shirley Cureton, in Livonia, Michigan. Edward will be remembered as man of unwavering faith, he lived his life guided by compassion, humility, and a deep commitment to serving others. His Catholic faith was the foundation of his life, and he proudly devoted his time to the Knights of Columbus, where he formed lasting friendships while giving back to his parish and community. He believed in helping others, leading by example, and living a life rooted in kindness and generosity. Education and service to others were central to his life's work. After earning his master's degree in Dentistry from the University of Detroit, he fulfilled his dream of caring for others through his profession. For more than 30 years, Doc practiced dentistry in Pinckney, where Doc became known not only for his skill and dedication but also for his gentle manner, reassuring smile, and genuine concern for every patient who walked through his doors. To many, he was more than a dentist, he was a trusted friend who made people feel cared for. Outside of his profession, he found his greatest peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or sharing stories with family and friends after a day of fishing, these moments brought him immense joy. He also had a lifelong passion for sports and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. A devoted University of Detroit fan, he celebrated their victories with enthusiasm and remained loyal throughout every season. Doc will be remembered for his steadfast faith, caring heart, quiet strength, and the countless lives he touched through his profession, his service, and his friendships. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the patients he served, the community he loved, and the many people who were blessed to know him.

His Family… Edward will be missed by his children; Sally (Don) Oleski, Bob (Laura) Rudin. Grandchildren; Armond and Ivan Oleski and Austin Rudin. Also, his brother-in-law Bob (Jan) Cureton. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Marie Rudin, his son Edward Rudin.

His Farewell… Edward’s family and friends will gather on Wednesday July 8th, 2026, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney, Michigan His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 8th, 2026, at 11:00AM. Fr. Tyler Arens will serve as celebrant.
