Elaine Josephine Cornellier of South Lyon died on the afternoon of Monday, January 30 under hospice care. She was 95 years old.
Elaine is survived by three of her loving children, Linda (Tom) Berarducci, Tom (Susan) Frederickson, and Peggy Jennette, her two nieces Bonnie Barrows and Debbie Mommers, two nephews Kevin Lueder and John Lueder, plus her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Mabel Lueder, brother Wilbur Lueder, and son Barry Frederickson.
Born January 12, 1928, Elaine graduated from Howell High School and is the former owner of the Frederickson Hardware store in Whitmore Lake. She had a number of interests ranging from bowling leagues in her younger years to casino trips after retirement. Elaine was also an avid antique collector and talented crafter — always taking on another project, like her many complex and stunning quilts or detailed needlepoint and cross-stitching pieces.
Some of the beloved, shared memories of her grandchildren include visits to her house across from the lake; learning to play euchre and pinochle while sitting on her lap; trying on her many, many high-heeled shoes; enjoying bowls of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup; and eating her butter-herb pull-apart bread.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 3 at 11a.m. with visitation beforehand at 10 a.m. at Old St. Patrick Catholic Church, 5671 Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Please make donations in memory of Elaine to the Neighborhoods of White Lake at 10770 Elizabeth Lake Rd, White Lake Charter Township, MI 48386.
