ELAINE RAE TWEEDIE July 15, 1927 – October 8, 2021
Elaine was a long-time resident of the Birmingham-Bloomfield area, graduating from Birmingham High School and attending Michigan State University.
She married Donald Tweedie in 1949 and was a devoted wife and mother to her five sons.
Volunteering was an important part of her life, and she served over 20,000 hours at Beaumont Hospital, along with chairing the Volunteer Board of Directors. She served as a member of the Altar Guild at her church, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. In addition, Elaine was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed traveling with Don as members of the Nomads Travel Club.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald. She is survived by her children: Mark (Reatha), David (Anne), Brian (Debbie), Rob (Tamara), and Chris (Stacey); her grandchildren: Nicole (Calvin), Mark (Anitha), Lisa (Tom), Jill (Bryan), David, Joy (Eric), Steven, and Claire; her great grandchildren Zachary, Natalie, Owen, Madeline, Benjamin, Miles, Riley, Emma, Piper, Kareena, Asha, and Inara. She is survived by her brother, Rodney (Dolores) Smith and her nieces Karin, Pamela, Mary and nephews Allan and James.
