Her Legacy… Eleonore Duggan, 96, passed away August 14, 2025. She was born on June 19, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to Anthony Palka and Sophie (Tucinski) Palka. Eleonore married the love of her life, Dennis Duggan, on April 26, 1958, and they were married for over 50 wonderful years. She worked as a secretary for the Veterans Association in Detroit, but her most important job was raising her family. Eleonore was a devout Roman Catholic, her religion was most important to her, and she made sure to raise her children in church. She was extremely outgoing, social, and maternal. She was a member of Michigan Right to Life, an organization dear to her heart. Eleonore loved life and was adventurous; she enjoyed taking trips and seeing friends. She loved cooking, skiing, sewing and loved family functions. Eleonore was a joy to know and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her Family… Eleonore will be missed by her children, Richard Duggan, Barbara Duggan, Michael Duggan, Mary (David) Smith, Susan (Michael) Hoeneise; granddaughters, Lillian Smith, Rose Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Duggan; parents, Anthony and Sophie Palka; and siblings, Chester, Frank, Edward, Joseph, Sister Dosithea “Ann”, Rose, Mary, Helen, Irene, Cecilia, and Angela.
Her Farewell… Eleonore’s family and friends will gather Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:30AM (9:30AM gathering), at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Fr. Joshua Fons will serve as celebrant.
