Her Legacy… Elizabeth Teresa Winter, 95, passed away January 25, 2026.  She was born on July 6, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond Chartier and Valeria (Glugla) Chartier. Elizabeth was a maternity nurse for Providence Hospital in Southfield for 35 years, retiring at 65. She was very intelligent and enjoyed researching and has long been considered the family historian, sitting around the kitchen table, telling stories about old photos and naming those no one knew. Elizabeth was adventurous, she took her children on many adventures and liked to travel solo. She loved gardening and flowers, bingo, antiquing, thrifting, flea market shopping and all things sparkly. Elizabeth loved being on the beach and Lake Michigan; she loved the time that she spent in Muskegon. She was great at playing trivia and she loved old Hollywood movies. Elizabeth loved God and had a strong faith. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking them to ice cream shops and McDonalds. Elizabeth was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Her Family… Elizabeth will be missed by her children, Katy (Rick) Hampton, Patti (Bill) Calus, Tom (Mira) Winter, Annie Winter, Jeremy Winter; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Brennan, Barbara Winter; and 45 nieces and nephews that will dearly miss her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Winter; parents, Raymond and Valeria Chartier; children, Jim (Donna) Winter, Tim (Roberta) Winter, David (Maggie) Winter, Rocky (Lesa) Winter; grandson, Sammy (Anne) Calus; and siblings, Rosemary (Bud) Sharp, Donald (Maxine) Chartier, and Raymond (Patricia) Chartier.

Her Farewell… Elizabeth’s family and friends will gather Monday, February 2, 2026, from 4:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Hamburg, Michigan. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will serve as Celebrant.
