Wineka, Ella
Howell, Michigan
Her Legacy… Ella Jolene Wineka, “Jo”, 92, passed away on February 5, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1933, in Charlotte, Tennessee, to Richard Nesbitt and Annabelle (Fowler) Nesbitt. Jo met the love of her life, Gordon Wineka, and married him on June 7, 1957; they shared 65 years together before his passing in 2022. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith in God and her kind, loving spirit. Jo was honest to a fault, direct and forthright, never afraid to “tell it like it is.” She enjoyed walking at the mall, shopping, and playing golf alongside her devoted husband. A proud Tennessean, Jo took great pride in her appearance and her home—always stylish, graceful, and impeccably put together.
Her Family… Jo will be dearly missed by her children, Steve (Sharon) Wineka, Jim (Suzanne) Wineka; sister, Mary Dolan; grandchildren, Caitlin, Nick, Julie, Kelly; great grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Evelyn, Charlotte, Belle; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon Wineka; son, Bryan Wineka; parents, Richard and Annabelle Nesbitt; sister, Bobbie Williams; brother, Dale Nesbitt.
Her Farewell… Jo’s family and friends will gather 11:00 am, Friday, February 13, 2026 until the time of her Community Farewell Service at 12:00 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Howell, Michigan.
