Her Legacy… Elva Lillian Farmer, 88, passed away January 18, 2026.  She was born on January 10, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee to Homer Allbert and Christine (Sidwell) Allbert. Elva married the love of her life, James Charles Farmer, in Detroit, Michigan and spent 45 years with him until his passing. Elva will be lovingly remembered for her tenacity, generosity, humor, and warm hospitality. Deeply devoted to her faith and her family, she found great joy in bringing people together and was the most gracious of hostesses, always welcoming friends and loved ones into her home. Elva cherished time spent laughing over board games and cards, and she especially enjoyed reading, watching movies, and keeping up with her favorite television program, Jeopardy. Having worked as an administrator for many years, she took pride in her strong organizational skills and appreciated things being neat and orderly. Always well groomed, Elva had a keen eye for detail and delighted in everything being just right. Her kindness, laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Her Family… Elva will be missed by her children, Cheryl (Steven) Browning Linda (Donald) Sylvester; grandchildren Brian, Jennifer (Jeffrey), Christopher (Miranda), Alyssa, Elizabeth, Melani, “MJ”; great grandchildren Sarah, Daniel, Hailee, Phillip, Keira, Zoe, Ian, Caiden, Logan; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Christine Allbert; Son, Michael Steven Farmer; brothers, James Allbert, Kenneth Allbert; grandson, James.

Her Farewell… Elva’s family and friends will gather from 11:00 am–12:00 pm, (12:00 pm Community Farewell Service), Friday January 23, 2026 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell, Michigan.
