Her Legacy… Faith Carolyn Bowen, 84, passed away April 10, 2024.  She was born on December 13, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to Warren May and Erna (Quandt) May. Faith married the love of her life, Donald Bowen, on July 24, 1976, in Hamburg, Michigan. Faith was an incredibly loving woman with a high moral compass. She loved God and her family more than anything. She taught Sunday school at St. Paul’s Church for 12 years and would often talk to people about eternal life. She wanted everyone to see the kingdom of heaven. Faith was the type of person that you wanted in your corner. She could be a bit of a firecracker, but she was fair and she always had your back. Her children’s friends called her “mom” and all of the neighborhood kids loved being at her house. Faith was a wonderful and loving caretaker to many family members throughout her life. Even when she was struggling with her own health issues, you would never know it because she always kept a smile on her face and was worried about others before herself. Faith enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for her grandchildren, teaching her grandchildren to cook and had a green thumb. Faith made a lasting impression on everyone that she met and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  

Her Family… Faith will be missed by her children, Jim Swarthout, Christina Swarthout; siblings, Phillip Terranova, Dennis May; grandchildren, Desereé Swarthout, Tiffany Swarthout, Danielle (Chad) Valentine; great grandchildren, Jimmy Swarthout, Dylan Jacobs, June Savela; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bowen; parents, Warren and Erna May; son, Bobby Swarthout; daughter, Dawn Swarthout; brothers, Warren May and John Terranova.

Her Farewell… Faith’s Community Farewell will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Visitation will start at 1:00PM and continue after the service until 4:00PM. Tina McCalley will serve as celebrant.
