His Legacy… Gavin William Thomas, age 17, passed away September 17, 2021. He was born on January 10, 2004, in Ann Arbor, MI to Doug and Laura (Shirley) Thomas. Gavin was part of the Pinckney High School track team and loved his teammates and the camaraderie. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to rap songs, vinyl records, and watching movies. Gavin was an avid Star Wars fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, and bonus family the Crowleys. Those who knew him would say that Gavin always made them laugh or smile and that he got along with everyone. He was a defender of all those he felt were in need. Gavin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Gavin leaves behind his parents, Doug and Laura; and sister, Claire. He is also survived by his grandparents; aunts; uncles; cousins; and girlfriend, Olivia Crowley. Gavin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marshall Shirley; and uncle, Todd Thomas.

His Farewell… Gavin’s family and friends will gather on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4-8PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11AM at Shalom Lutheran Church, 1740 M-36, Pinckney, Michigan with a gathering beginning at 10AM until the time of service.
