His Legacy… Gerald Francis McMaster, 92, passed away September 1, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to John McMaster and Elizabeth (Meagher) McMaster. He spent his career with GM, retiring after 45 years. Gerald was a family man and a dedicated husband. He married his first love, Carol, they were married for 33 wonderful years, until her passing. Gerald was fortunate to find love again, with Delphine Kryza, and they were married on October 7, 1994, in Redford, Michigan. He was incredibly sweet, charming and sociable; he loved to be around people. Gerald always had very loyal, long-term friendships. Gerald enjoyed music, dancing and golfing. He loved to travel and has been to China, Ireland, France, the Philippines, among many other places. Gerald was a man of committed faith; he was very active at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton. He acted as a eucharistic minister, altar server, volunteered with their meals on wheels program and brought the eucharistic ministry to those that were homebound. Spending time with his family meant everything to Gerald and he adored his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Gerald was a joy to know and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
His Family… Gerald will be missed by his wife Delphine McMaster; his children, Gerald (Nancy) McMaster, Gregory McMaster, Julie Wheeler, Darlene Kryza; daughters-in-law, Sally McMaster, Hillary McMaster; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol McMaster; sons, Matthew McMaster, Paul McMaster; son-in-law, Douglas Wheeler; parents, John and Elizabeth McMaster; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
His Farewell… Gerald’s family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00AM (9:30AM Rosary & 10:00AM gathering) at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan.
