A lifelong resident of Hamburg, Tiny grew up in the community she would cherish for the rest of her life. She attended Hamburg Elementary School and graduated in the top ten of her class from Ann Arbor High School in 1958, where she also served as class secretary. Following graduation, she began her career with Madison Electric Company.
On June 16, 1962, Tiny married the love of her life, Harold “Skip” Richter. Together they made their home on Hamburg Lake, where they raised their family and shared 63 wonderful years. Deeply committed to her community, Tiny was one of the founding organizers for the Livingston County United Way in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She also founded the Women’s Unit for the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department in 1973 and served for 13 years. Beginning in the mid-1980s Tiny worked alongside her husband at Skip's Repair doing bookkeeping for 40 years.
