Helen Eileen Bezzeg was called to her heavenly home on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born in Putnam Township, Livingston County, Michigan on February 9, 1930 to John and Mary (Nems) Bezzeg and graduated from Pinckney High School. After earning her LPN from Practical Nursing School of Ann Arbor in 1951, she worked for a time at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Clemens before beginning her long and rewarding career at St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, retiring in 1995 after 36 1/2 years. Helen was active at Good News Community Chapel (formerly Calvary Mennonite Church) in Pinckney. She enjoyed nature, bird watching, traveling, and Bible study, and loved being on the family farm in Dexter. She was very compassionate and caring, and always willing to help those in need. Helen dearly loved her family and enjoyed sharing family history. She will be greatly missed.
Helen was proceeded in death by her sister Mary (Walter Esch), brother John (Jan Bezzeg), brother Mike Bezzeg and brother Joseph “Butch” Bezzeg. Helen is survived by sister-in-law Roma Bezzeg. Her numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces/nephews brought her great joy.
Helen’s family wishes to thank the staff at Wellbridge of Pinckney for their conscientious and compassionate care during her four years there. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Good News Community Chapel, 104 Putnam Street, Pinckney, Michigan. Family will receive friends at 10 AM and the memorial service will begin at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Helen’s honor may be given to Heifer Internationa,1 World Avenue, Little Rock AR 72202.
