His Legacy… Herschel Raymond, “Raymond” Gallatin, 79, passed away March 24, 2024.  He was born on May 3, 1944, in Adrian, Michigan to Herschel Spencer Gallatin and Edith Jane (Lemley) Gallatin. Raymond married the love of his life, Dian Furgason, on September 24, 1966, in Palmyra, Michigan and spent 57 wonderful years with her.   He will be remembered as a quiet, helpful, generous (to a fault sometimes) man, who was devoted to his family. He was a very hard working man as well as a leader who took care of his family, friends and neighbors.  Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers in his early days.  As his family grew, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren at their lake house.  He also enjoyed doing yardwork, gardening, woodcarving and watching his grandkids in their sports and activities.

His Family… Raymond will be truly missed by his loving wife, Dian; his beautiful children, Chad (Deborah) Gallatin, Rochelle (Michael) Wiseman; sister, Shirley MacBeth; sister-in-laws, Carol (Monty) Love, Marcia (Mike) Gilson, Elaine (Tom) Korican, loving grandchildren, Kaylee, Jack, Gabriella, Asher, and Baye; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Edith Gallatin, his siblings, Lawrence Gallatin, Helena Kohler, Eugene Gallatin, Howard Gallatin, and Melvin Gallatin.

His Farewell… Raymond’s family and friends will gather, Thursday, April 4, 2024 4:00-7:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel in Howell, Michigan. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palmyra, Michigan.
