His Legacy…Hubert Auxier, 90, passed away surrounded by his family with love, on June 5, 2022.  He was born on May 23, 1932, in Old Town, Kentucky to Frank Auxier and Eliza(Howard) Auxier. Hubert married the love of his life, Helen Lucille Young, on December 22, 1955, in rural Mississippi.  Hubert proudly served his country in the Air Force where he was Active Duty in Korea from 1951-1955. From 1968-1988 he was in the Air Force National Guard. Hubert was a dedicated air traffic controller for 33 years, having worked at Washington D.C., Dayton, and Detroit Metro airports. His son, grandson, grandson-in-law, and nephew followed in his career footsteps. Hubert raised his family in Dearborn, MI where he was also in the Dearborn Police Reserve. He resided at Fox Run, Novi for 14 years, before moving to Hamburg for a short time. Hubert was a warm, loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was full of jokes, soft-hearted and a great mentor. He took great responsibility for the well-being and security of his family. Hubert was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Hubie “Grandpa Birdie” will be missed by; his children, Clifford (Carey) Auxier, Barbara Shannon; grandchildren, Tara (Ryan) Ward, Cory (Samantha) Shannon, Jesse Shannon, Hayley Shannon; great grandchildren, Ryder Shannon, Reece Shannon; grand-puppies, Coco & Scarlett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille “Birdie” Auxier; parents, Frank and Eliza Auxier; and his eleven siblings.

His Farewell… Hubert’s Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 5:00PM (2PM-5PM gathering), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Christian Appalachian Project, Boys Town-Saving Children, or Paralyzed Vets of America.
