Her Legacy… Iris Vivian Barlow, 91, passed away April 30, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to Paul Hetrick and Dorothy (Vohl) Hetrick. She is a 1951 graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit. Iris went to work at Goddard & Goddard where she met the love of her life, Joseph Barlow, and got married on November 19, 1955, in Detroit. Iris loved to play softball, bowling, gardening, bird watching and watching her Detroit Tigers. She always cheered on her children and grandchildren at all their sporting events. Iris will be remembered as being big hearted and nurturing, which was demonstrated by fostering children in her home, and driving a bus for Howell Public Schools.
Her Family… Iris will be missed by her children, Steve (Kathy) Barlow, Kimberly (Tom) Richardson, Robert (Karen) Barlow, Tina Barlow; grandchildren, Betsy, Kyle, Chelsea, Kara, Maria, Lexi, Lindsay; great grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Addy, Winston, Sonny, Cicily and Adam; good friends, Ellie, Yvonne, Judy, Elaine. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph; son, Craig Barlow; sisters, Pauline Hetrick, Claudia Myers; Parents Paul and Dorothy Hetrick.
Her Farewell… Iris’s family and friends will gather from 9:00 AM until the time of her Community Farewell Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church in Howell. Pastor Ken Greble will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church of Howell or Samaritas.
